How does Melody Cool obtain its huge sound?
Melody Cool uses a technique known as backing tracks. Backing tracks are used by some of the top major artist today such as Madonna, Muse, U2 and Lady Gaga.


What are backing tracks?
Backing tracks are additional instruments, i.e. horns, violins, percussion or at times an entire orchestra which are added to Melody Cools live performance to enhance the sound and to replicate more closely the instrumentation of the original song.


How are backing tracks created?
Backing tracks are created by programming each instruments part into a computer. The members of Melody Cool will then perform their “live” parts with the computer programmed parts.


Who creates Melody Cool’s backing tracks?
Melody Cool’s backing tracks are created by the members of the band.


What are the benefits of backing tracks?
The main benefit of backing tracks is cost. By utilizing backing tracks Melody Cool is able to reduce the number of musicians required to perform complex songs that keeps your initial cost down. An added benefit of only three musicians is the required space needed for setup is extremely small and volume can be reduced to a minimum.


Is Melody Cool considered a live band?
Complex question, the answer is yes and no. The dominant instrumentalist in songs Melody Cool performs is a live musician, i.e. lead vocals, bass guitar and drums. If Melody Cool specialized in a different style of music we would have a different set of live musicians. The instrumentalists of least importance in the songs Melody Cool performs are programmed and create the backing tracks.


Does Melody Cool take song request?
Yes, Melody Cool does take song request. If we have the backing track programmed, we can play your song request. If we do not have the backing tracks programmed, Melody Cool can recommend a substitute song that we do have the backing tracks programmed for.


What if I want a larger band?
Melody Cool can hire additional musicians at an additional cost to you. For each additional musician that is hired, the appropriate instrument will be turned off in the backing track.


How does Melody Cool manage its volume levels?
When 100% volume management is required, Tom Dantin will utilize his electronic drum kit in place of his acoustic drum kit. This gives us 100% control over the volume of Melody Cool.
